About This Spot

Restaurante Samburá offers a quietly inviting retreat nestled in the heart of Parque das Palmeiras, Angra dos Reis. From the moment you step inside, the pace softens—the kind of place where time seems to slow just enough to savour every subtle wave of the ocean breeze and the sound of gentle conversation. It’s a warmly lit space that embraces you without fuss, setting the tone for an unhurried meal shared among good company.

At its core, Samburá is a celebration of the sea’s generous offerings. The menu unfolds like a coastal narrative, rich with dishes that carry the freshness of nearby waters and the warmth of traditional Brazilian flavors. Whether it's the velvety embrace of a carefully seasoned moqueca or the delicate crunch of coconut shrimp, each bite feels lovingly crafted without brilliance seeking the spotlight. Patrons find themselves drawn into a rhythm where the food acts as a natural companion to relaxed conversations and the occasional clink of a glass filled with tropical cocktails or crisp local beers.

The simplicity of the place is part of its charm. Familiar faces behind the counter and waitstaff who move with a quiet attentiveness create an atmosphere where visitors — both local and from afar — can feel grounded. This welcoming ambiance encourages pause, reflection, and the delight of discovering tastes that perfectly echo the region's character.

Restaurante Samburá isn’t just about feeding the appetite; it’s about nourishing a moment of connection, a shared human pause in the vibrant coastal life of Angra dos Reis. Here, every meal invites you to slow down and enjoy the generous spirit of the sea in a space that feels like a neighbor’s well-loved kitchen.

My girlfriend and I came here two years ago and fell in LOVE. We had the moqueca de camarão. It was the most delicious moqueca we’ve ever had. All the shrimp and seafood was so FRESH. We cannot wait to go back. Every time we reminisce about our trip to Angra dos Reis we remember the moqueca at Samburà *_* highly recommend!!!

Restaurante Samburá was so amazing! They have a decent selection of Brazilian craft beers as well as cocktails and other drinks. We didn’t know what we were ordering so ordered way too much food. The moqueca would be sufficient for 2 people if that is all you are having. If you also order 2 sides then the mocqueca is way too much, however the mocqueca with fish and shrimp was so delicious that it didn’t really matter that we ate more food than two of us can handle.

I was here with my colleagues on March 2018. Quite and good place with great local sea food kitchen. Some of personnel speak English, thus making this place a most comfortable in comparison with others, as most of locals speak only Portuguese. There is a variety of good cooked sea food and drinks including alcohol beverages (local beer Brahma, different rums.

Very casual spot with delicious seafood. We had the famous Moqueca (fish and prawn stew) which was amazing. Definitely can feed more than 2 people. We ordered a starter as well but couldn’t finish the food (and we’re usually big eaters)!

We ordered the scallops with butter and WOW - super fresh, tasty, and so satisfying! We also got the fish and shrimp moqueca and it was insanely good. The portion was huge, but we still finished everything Every scoop was packed with flavour and just made us want more. The owner was an absolute sweetheart! He took his time explaining the menu and kept checking in to make sure we were happy. Loved the food, loved the service, loved the whole experience. Would 100% recommend!
